Engagement Adventure ~ Marlene + Greg ~ San Diego, CA

Our recent engagement session with Marlene and Greg, one of the most warm and romantic couples we have ever met, somehow turned into a crazy adventure all San Diego. We started the day at the “Love Shack,” and before we knew it…one thing led to another and we had hopped onto a trolley to see where fate would take us.

As excited as we were to be voyeuristically observing these two lovebirds through scratched plate glass and between sleepy strangers’ heads, things got even more exciting when we jumped off the trolley at the Gaslamp Quarter. We found ourselves at the Field on a Friday night…which translates to a super crowded bar with lots of staring strangers.

Marlene and Greg had a ton of fun with it all, I think they might have had more fun than we did! It was such a crazy day, filled with random extra-friendly strangers, plenty of gawkers, a paddy wagon, tons of laughter, and some very unforgettable memories. We can hardly wait for the wedding!!!

Sunny Engagement Session with Cherish & Justin

We happened upon this lovely couple as they walked hand in hand through an enchanted forest. Cherish & Justin paused in a grassy glade, dappled sunlight dancing all around them. The look in their eyes as they gazed at one another just took my breath away. How lucky we were to catch this moment!

They graciously let us follow them around for the rest of the afternoon all over San Diego. As the sun bid us farewell for the day, we were left with these lasting images of Cherish & Justin. (Click here for the full slideshow)

Rainy Day Engagement Session ~ Stefanie + Thomas

Out of all the days it had to rain in sunny San Diego, it rained on Stefanie and Thomas’ engagement session! Jojo and I thought to ourselves, what a stroke of luck…we LOVE shooting in the rain! And even luckier for us, these two cool cats were down to brave the weather for our shoot. Their perseverance through the cold winds made for some great moments. Thanks for being so awesome Stefanie and Thomas!

Shelley + Ravi ~ Engagement Ceremony

We recently had the pleasure of photographing Shelley and Ravi’s engagement ceremony, and we loved every moment of it! It was such a colorful, ornate, and emotional ceremony symbolizing the engagement of not just Shelley and Ravi, but of both their families. While Ravi’s parents could not be there in person, they witnessed the momentous occasion via Skype. Gotta love technology! Sabrina & Vince ~ Engagement Session ~ San Diego

Have you ever had one of those days when everything seems to work out perfectly? When everything seems to fit just right? Sabrina & Vince are like one of those perfect days where nothing can possibly go wrong or bring you down. They are like water flowing in a river, or leaves blowing in the wind…there is an effortless joy and a beautiful chaos about them. I’d even go so far as to say that Sabrina & Vince are not unlike macaroni and cheese…they make the perfect combination and should not exist without each other.

We loved every moment of our day with Sabrina & Vince! We miss you guys already!

Where Have You Been?!

Life has been super hectic lately, so I thought I’d give the world an update (in case anyone is listening). The biggest news of late…we are getting ready for a big move! We’ve needed more space for a long time now, and we are so excited to plan our new space so it fits us like a glove!

In other news, not that it’s really worth mentioning, but I’ll be turning 30 next week (yikes!). I’ve always heard 30 is one of those milestone birthdays, people freak out and do crazy things to commemorate (aka avoid) the occasion. I’m not freaking out in the slightest, should I be worried about that? And I’m not feeling some dire need to jump out of a plane, should I be? What did all of you do for your 30th birthday? Or, if you’re still a youngling, what would you do on your 30th?

Maybe I’ll celebrate it in another city since we are trekking up to San Francisco at the end of this month. We’ve got 2 weddings up there…so excited! Anyway, I’m open to suggestions on how to usher in a new decade of my life.

Allie & Ryan ~ Engaged

We first met Allie & Ryan at the Santa Fe Depot (Amtrak Train Station) in downtown San Diego. From the moment we met, there was no hiding the fact that they are crazy about each other! The excitement never died as these two crazy kids ran, jumped, danced, dipped, and twirled all over town. One of my favorite moments of the day was when Ryan literally swept Allie off her feet and carried her off into the ocean! If it had been just a bit warmer, I bet we would have all ended up in the water.
