Blinded by the Light…

Revved up like a…sorry, I’ll stop.  It’s just the first phrase that came to mind when I took this photo the other night. As Jojo and I were leaving the table tennis club a few days ago, (after he beat me 5 matches in a row), we were stopped dead in our tracks by this sight in the parking lot.  It was almost as if an alien ship was flooding the ground with light to prepare for a landing!

In reality, it was just a street light shining from behind a big tree.  But the intense burst of light, the rays shooting everywhere, was awesome!  And this picture barely does the real thing justice, it was way more amazing in person.  This photo was taken with my iPhone!

I wanted to share this with everyone for a few reasons. Number one, I just love this photo, it embodies and inspires the sci-fi hemisphere of my brain. And second, to encourage all of you to find the amazing things that typically appear “normal” in our everyday lives.  This was just a street light and a tree.  But when viewed on a foggy night, lined up just so, it became so much more.  Now go and see what’s really out there!

Remigio Family Christmas

The best way to spend Christmas is with the ones you love.  And in the Remigio Family’s case, Christmas isn’t complete without all 40 family members!  Jojo and I spent a fun-filled day with this awesome family, check out a few images from the day, and scroll down for the full slideshow!

Allie & Ryan ~ Engaged

We first met Allie & Ryan at the Santa Fe Depot (Amtrak Train Station) in downtown San Diego.  From the moment we met, there was no hiding the fact that they are crazy about each other!  The excitement never died as these two crazy kids ran, jumped, danced, dipped, and twirled all over town.  One of my favorite moments of the day was when Ryan literally swept Allie off her feet and carried her off into the ocean!  If it had been just a bit warmer, I bet we would have all ended up in the water.

Here are just a few awesome shots from our day with Allie & Ryan.  Scroll to the bottom for the full slideshow.

Christmas Day Fun!

Christmas for our family is all about relaxing, eating, and most importantly…taking pictures!  This year we all congregated at my mom’s house in Moreno Valley.  I got to catch up with all my cousins (we rarely get together these days) eat my mom’s pancit (which I think is the best), watch Juno for the first time (one of the funniest, cutest, and coolest movies I’ve seen), and just take some time to unwind.

The newest tradition to Christmas this year is our makeshift photo booth.  We found a blank wall in the living room, set up one light, and snapped away the whole day.  Here are a few fun photos, I’ll post the full gallery soon!

Not all the cousins could make it this year, but at least the cool ones made it:

Our Mini Date at Sea World

Surprisingly, it’s been a pretty hectic month this December!  Even though we shot our last wedding of the year in November, we’ve been busy shooting a ton of other fun things like engagement sessions, bridal sessions, and lots of family portraits.  I must admit, I love staying busy and I definitely love shooting as often as possible.  But it’s nice to take a breather every now and then.

This morning we took a little break from work (not to mention the last minute Christmas shopping) and went on a mini date to Sea World!  We have annual passes, so it’s really nice to just drop in, pet some dolphins, and stuff ourselves with funnel cake once in a while. Here’s Jojo trying to sneak a photo of me, but I’m too quick!

The bat rays at Forbidden Reef are SO COOL!!!  You slap your hand on the water and they come right up to you!  Supposedly they like it when you rub their heads and fins.  Check out this character in the bottom right of the photo, what a ham!

Now ‘ere’s a real beauty! This is a Southern Ground Hornbill, a huge prehistoric bird from the grasslands and savanna of sub-Saharan Africa.

“Help me, help me!” screamed the little grub.

Isn’t she beautiful? I can’t get over these long lashes!

It’s always refreshing to take some time out for a little adventure. That’s why we love Sea World, always an adventure each time we visit.  Now it’s back to business as usual.  Check back soon, we’ve got some awesome engagement photos coming up!

New Website!!!

We’ve been shacking up in this cozy little spot known as FeliciLivesHere.com for a while now.  While we love it to death, it is time to take the next big step.  That’s why we’ve been hard at work on our new website: FeliciPhotography.com!  This new site will give us a chance to really strut and show our stuff.  But don’t worry, the blog isn’t going anywhere, it will continue to be updated at least 3 times per week.

So check it out! FeliciPhotography.com!  We are still working on the “Bio” page, it’s gonna be super cool!

Wedding ~ Hannah & Hien ~ San Diego, CA

We’ve discovered the most heavenly mix of taro yogurt paired with ripe mango slices at Yog-Art in Hillcrest!  This addiction and obsession of ours for taro yogurt with mango has led us to another perfect match…Hannah & Hien!  We’ve come to know these fro-yo moguls over the past year, and they are two of the coolest cats we’ve ever known.

Our day with Hannah & Hien was a ton of fun!  Not only were they super excited and down for anything, they brought their wild and crazy entourage to join in the fun!  We all headed over to the Neurosciences Institute in La Jolla, an amazing piece of architecture.  Check out Hannah, Hien, and their posse!
