Everyone! Tomorrow is National Wear Red Day to support the fight against heart disease in women! It’s not widely known that heart disease is the number one cause of death in the United States. Tonight I got the chance to photograph these women, rallying out in the rain tonight for this cause and raising awareness about the importance of a healthy heart. It’s a great feeling to be one of the volunteers supporting these inspirational women!
In support of the Go Red for Women program (part of the American Heart Association), some buildings around San Diego were lit up in red. The US Grant Hotel downtown was by far the most impressive.

Women of all ages, this should be a concern for you. It’s important to think about this with respect to every aspect of your life. You can take this online Go Red Heart Checkup to assess your risk for heart disease. And please, spread the word to your fellow women.
