South Korea: Back to Civilization

We are finally back to civilization, and finally back to the internet!  It was an amazing experience to live like Buddhist monks for a week, but we are so glad to be back in the city.  I will not miss waking up at 3:00am everyday for morning chanting with the monks.  But I will miss our morning yoga with the monks, and having tea with them everyday after breakfast.  I won’t miss the freezing cold water in the showers.  But I will miss the misty mountains and the beautiful old temples.

We have lots of pictures to post, but I’ll make sure to post them in small bites.  Here are just a few from the past couple of days.

Here is Tiffany serving Jojo some soup as we learned how Buddhist monks traditional eat all their meals:

Jojo meditates in a traditional Korean wood carving in Wando:

Jojo sampling the delicious Korean favorite, pah jun (fried green onion pancake with seafood). And yes, that is an octopus tentacle he’s about to devour:

12 days in Korea with Tiffany, we were bound to get in a few fights. Guess who won this one:

Wow, what an experience; I wish I could be there. And no disrespect, but what the crap is that creature feature that Jojo is eating? It looks horrifying.

Actually Mignon, it’s just a simple octopus tentacle. Quite tasty! It’s seafood fried with green onions.

    Thanks Simon!
