For the big #29, Jojo took me to a little spot down the street called Parallel 33. In a nutshell, this place is awesome and we would recommend it highly to anyone looking for an amazing place to eat. It was a bit on the pricy side, about $30 for an entree, but the food was delicious and so different. I will look for any excuse to go back and try more of their tasty dishes.
The chefs prepare cuisine from countries that lie on Earth’s 33rd parallel, such as Morocco, Lebanon, India, China, Japan and others. Jojo had the Lamb Tajine, a Moroccan dish. The lamb was so tender it fell apart at the softest touch. And the cous cous underneath was so good, Jojo actually ate that before the lamb! I had the pan seared scallops with lentils, squash, and pearl onions, which was amazing! The menu didn’t say which country this receipe was from, but it was mouth-watering, and it was a new flavor I’d never experienced before.
We were too stuffed for dessert, so we waited about 1 hour than went to YogArt for frozen yogurt! I love this birthday! Here are a few images from my iPhone at dinner. And just for fun, a shot of us in New Zealand as we happened upon the 45th parallel!
